Students Reminders

Here are several important tasks students should complete each week.

Mentor Check-In Section

You should have access to your mentors on a weekly basis, and it’s okay for you to connect with them, instead of waiting on them.

Communication Is Crucial

If you are going to miss class or are unable to complete an assignment, integrity requires that you contact administration, Nancy Pless, or your mentor in advance. No-shows and failure to communicate will result in a full-grade deduction.

Video Conferencing

Mentors may meet with their mentees through FaceTime, Zoom, or Google Meet to discuss progress and complete the required assessment forms.

Assignments/Grades

Grades will now be accessible online. Late assignments and missed presentations will be penalized. Make-up presentations are required; failure to complete one will result in the loss of one full letter grade.

Prayer Is Mandatory

Prayer attendance is 35% of your grade and is required. Only credible, approved excuses will be excused. Prayer is the backbone of this school and a vital part of your walk with God.

Class Golden Rule

Real integrity means, keeping our word, and communicating when we can't fulfill a commitment. When something happens, we honor God and others by taking responsibility, reaching out, and following through. God honors integrity. Proverbs 10:9: "Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out."

Open Door Policy

PIT University values transparency, communication, and accountability. Our Open Door Policy gives students a clear and respectful way to ask questions, express concerns, and receive guidance.

Communicate Early

Students are encouraged to reach out as soon as a concern, conflict, absence, or assignment issue arises. Do not wait until the matter becomes bigger. Early communication helps us respond with wisdom and fairness.

Use the Proper Chain of Support

Students should first speak with their mentor when possible. If the matter requires additional support, it may be brought to administration. This keeps communication orderly and ensures every concern is handled properly.

Be Honest and Respectful

All concerns must be shared with honesty, humility, and respect. PIT University will listen, review the matter, and respond appropriately. Transparency does not remove accountability, but it does create room for understanding, correction, and support.
